About Badalassi Carlo tannery

Founded in Tuscany, Badalassi Carlo has been producing vegetable-tanned leather using the traditional "slow tannage" method — hides steep in natural tannin baths for weeks, not hours. This slow process is what gives Badalassi Carlo leather its dense fibre structure, exceptional durability, and characteristic ageing behaviour. The tannery is a certified member of the Vera Pelle Italiana Conciata al Vegetale consortium — the mark of authentic Italian vegetable-tanned leather.

Yes. All Badalassi Carlo collections (Pueblo, Minerva Box, Wax, Nemesi, Habana, Eufrate) are full-grain vegetable-tanned leather.

What's the difference between Pueblo and Minerva Box?

Pueblo has a raw, brushed, matte surface and develops patina quickly. Minerva Box is smoother and semi-glossy, with a cleaner, more classic finish. Both are full-grain veg-tan sides from the same tannery.

What thickness does Badalassi Carlo leather come in?

Standard sides range from about 1.4mm to 2.2mm depending on the collection. For belts and thicker items, look at Pueblo 2mm+ or ask us about custom thickness through our splitting service.
